The Way of Kings [Review]
NOTE: For those who noticed, my first entry, on the 1st, said I would write daily. Well today is my second post, 3 days later. I guessed I already messed that one up. Now it will be a total surprise when my posts will come. Fun for you!
August 31st, 2010 Tor Books released, The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. This is the first epic fantasy I’ve ever read before. As a first time reader of epic fantasy’s I choose a whooper of a book; The Way of Kings is 1007 pages long. (Is that long for an epic fantasy?) Now I should make a note here, I didn’t actually read it, I listened to it. 45 hours, 1 credit; I love Audible.
I’ve been listening to Writing Excuses for about a year now. Brandon Sanderson is one of the hosts of that excellent podcast. As I’ve listened I’ve come to enjoy the advice he has given. So when I heard he recently came out with a new book I thought I would give it a try. For those who don’t know anything about the book… Go to his website, linked above and check it out. I have no idea how to summarize it without either 1) not doing it justice, or 2) spoiling the story. And without further ado, lets begin.
